10 Secrets to Using Twitter to Attract More Followers and Get More Clients

I do wonder at times if some Twitter users have any time to get any work done. Several of the more prolific ones that I follow swear they spend no more than 30 minutes a day on Twitter, but I really find that hard to believe. Many times it seems they are twittering just to say something, like "Good morning Twitterverse" when they begin their day, give more details than I want to know about what they had for lunch, what their children said to them, or when they take a nap.

Web CEO - The Right Toolkit for Your SEO!

I realize that this is part of the "like, know, and trust" process that enables people to get to know each other, but sometimes it's simply too much information..LOL. I'm Twittering primarily to market my business. Consequently, I try and limit my personal twitters to no more than 2 per day. My clients, who create Twitter accounts for marketing, as well, tell me, "I'm signed up. Now what in the world do I Twitter about? How do I market my business with this tool?"

Here are 10 strategies that I use regularly to market my business and my expertise via Twitter. Remember, you have only 140 characters for your tweet (Twitter post).

1. How you're helping clients. Talk about specific ways that your business helps clients and use their Twitter ID if you have their permission, i.e. "Just finished @clientname brainstorm great Internet marketing plan for 2009" or "Finally finished setting up Quickbooks for local hardware store -- now they can invoice their clients"

2. What you're doing in your business. This is a perfect time to tell others when you're blogging, writing an article, creating your weekly ezine, recording your podcast, i.e. "Had great interview with Jane Smith today on speaking to grow your biz. Great ideas! Subscribe to podcast & listen here (URL here)"

3. Useful tool or resource you've found. I run across these all the time in my daily activities, and Twitter is a perfect place to share,. i.e. "Found great new Firefox plug-in to monitor & check multiple Gmail accounts at same time at (URL here)" or "Read great blog post on workíng at home with kids under 5 at (URL here)"

4. Ask a question. Need some ideas or some quick brainstorming? Twitter is an ideal place to gather opinions, i.e. "Help! Desperately seeking new laser prínter. Recommendations?" or "How do I find training organizations online?"

5. Conduct a survey. What do your Tweeps think about a particular issue? Ask them via Twitter, i.e. "Quick poll: Do you get more clients from Facebook or Twitter? Respond at (URL here)"

6. Report on live events. The latest Twitter trend seems to be tweeting what's happening at conferences or workshops. In order for Twitter users to follow a particular event, it's usually referred to by a name preceded by a # sign, as in #JVAlert, for example, to make it simpler for people who want to follow those posts. So, if you were at an event, you might tweet "#JVAlert John Smith speaking on affiliate programs. Just got great idea on training affiliate managers!" Just don't get so wrapped up in tweeting that you ignore the content delivered in the conference!

7. Product or service launch. If you're about to launch a new product or introduce a new product, let your Twitter followers know, i.e. "Pre-launch pricing for new DVD set about how baby boomers can start an online biz. Get $100 early bird discount at (URL here)"

8. Responding to others with advice or answers. The way to build professional relationships on Twitter is to help your tweeps. So, if someone asks a question, comments about something to which you have a response or an idea, or you want to ask a followup question, this is the perfect place to do so.

9. Acknowledging new followers. I've noticed a recent trend of acknowledging people who've decided to follow a Twitter user in the past day or so. I initially thought that others were doing this as a measure of popularity, but what I've come to realize is that it's actually helping out the new followers because it exposes their Twitter profiles to others who may have never heard of them and who might like to follow them. So, to thank your followers, you'd tweet, "Welcome new followers @twittername, @twittername, etc."

10. Automate your tweets. Many of my tweets have been automated and connected to other things I do. TwitterFeed turns all of my blog posts into tweets. aWeber turns each ezine issue into a tweet. tweets my followers every time I publish an article through their service. Typically all that's involved here is connecting the particular service to my Twitter account. Once all the services are connected, I get free and automated Twitter posts with no additional effort on my part.

Twitter can be a great time-waster or a wonderful way to market your business and leverage your expertise online. Follow these 10 strategies and you'll begin to attract more followers and get more clients through social networking.

How To Submit Your website To The Major Search Engines

How many sales pitches have you seen that mention this: “We’ll submit your website to THOUSANDS of search engines all over the internet to get every possible exposure for only $999.” Umm, not necessary!! Google: Google maintains the largest searchable index of the World Wide Web.

Submission page: Home page:

Submission page: Home page:

MSN: Microsoft’s answer to the search engine market. You can expect MSN Search to be a major player in this field.

Submission page: Home page:

- MSN recommends designing your pages with valuable content that your target audience is interested in…DUH! - Keyword density methods are screened and may result in lower ranking. No keyword spam

10 Key Tips on Choosing the Best Hosting Package for You

This is not exactly a "top 10" líst, as all of the following things could easily be listed as the most important consideration. Individuals, small companies and big corporations all need to consider the same things when choosing a hosting package.

The overall "tip" here is that you need to get accurate information to make comparisons among hosts. Therefore, each individual tip is another, separate aspect of the hosting relationship that you need to investigate. You should take them all seriously.

1. Traffic ("data transfer" or "bandwidth") - These terms refer to the amount of information, measured in bytes, that is delivered from your website to visitors. Although you will hear about "unlímited bandwidth", check to see if the same terminology used for marketing purposes is reflected in the contract. In other words, read the contract before signing on the dotted line. Unless you will be uploading photo archives or using your site to swap large files, your small- to mid-size website should normally use no more than 3GB of bandwidth monthly. Watch out for "overage" charges (per additional GB, usually) and consider upgrading your account if the site traffic increases.

2. Disk space - Apply the same skeptical approach to the "unlímited disk space" deals, as you did to the claims about traffic above. Again, the majority of small to mid-size sites need 10-20MB of web space at most, so unless 500MB or "unlímited space" is part of the basic package, don't bite. You can easily determine how much storage you need by checking your file sizes and adding them up - all the HTML pages (which are small) plus all the images (some of which can be big).

3. Uptime ("reliability") – The minimum figure for uptime should be 99%. Today, in fact, that is the minimum advertised amount, as 99.5% or more is referred to all the time. Many people would consider this the most important consideration.

4. Tools and security (FTP, PHP, SSI, etc.) – Some hosts require getting prior approval to install various scripts like CGI or PHP. You would be less constrained with a host that does not make you wait for approval. To properly maintain databases, set up security measures and otherwise customize your site, you need the full tool set. Once you find out what you get in the way of tools, press a bit further and find out about restrictions on their use, if any.

5. Email – What's the use of having a custom-named domain for your business if you continue using Hotmail or other web-based mail applications? Every hosting plan will include e-mail services, allowing you to look and sound like a "real company" with its own e-mail addresses. The quality of such add-ons as auto-responders, mail filters and mailing managers will vary among potential hosts. Don't forget to verify that you will also have "webmail" (web-based access to your mail server) and make sure to evaluate the anti-spam tools that are available.

6. Technical support – As things often break down at the worst possible times, you want tech support available as much as possible. Sometimes "24/7 support" is more like "12/5 support", so find out about coverage on weekends and holidays. It is also important to speak with a human being rather than be stuck in a circle of FAQ pages and e-mail service requests. If you face an emergency that threatens your business, you also want to know that the tech staff is knowledgeable. Ask about their training.

7. Remote controls – It may be called your "control panel", it may be called a "tool kit", but every host will give you utilities with which to manage your account. Often, there is a certain web page established from which to do this. Managing your e-mail, mail accounts, passwords and anti-spam tools are all basic chores for webmasters. With a powerful set of tools, the important control over your business stays in your hands.

8. Server architecture – There are numerous reasons for choosing one type of server over another. If you want to use the ASP web programming language, for example, it is only available on Windows servers. However, cost-wise, it is often better to use a Unix system running Apache server software, which is stable, dependable and lets you manage error pages, block specified IP addresses, stop email harvesting and more, without waiting for your host to approve anything. Also, if yours will be an e-commerce site, you will want to get SSL (Secure Socket Layer), MySQL and shopping cart functionality.

9. Costs and payment plans – Price, quite obviously, is an important factor, but the most expensive hosts are not always the best ones. Consider cost, of course, and beware of dramatic price differentials on what are really quite similar plans. You can pay via annual or quarterly payment plans that will discount the monthly rate, and the more you pay at once (and upfront), the less you will pay per month.

10. Reputation and reviews – Search the Internet and talk to all of your business colleagues. Track down both complaints and praises about your potential hosts, but remember to consider the source of the comments.

You will save yourself a lot of frustration if you do your homework. If you are unclear or uncertain about any of the particulars, ask someone you know who has more expertise for assistance. You can also take the bull by the horns and use the Internet as your school, to learn what you need to know about hosting companies and how they work.

The Mysteries of SEO

EO, or search engine optimization, is the most important element in building a successful website. Most people online have heard the term SEO and have some idea of what is involved yet it remains a mysterious process to many. One of the reasons SEO is so mysterious is that it can be a complicated endeavor and search engines are constantly changing the way they rank sites and the way the recognize the many tools of SEO.

At the forefront of the SEO check and balance system is the leading search engine Google. They have pretty much set the standard for technology in search engine algorithms that can track the relevancy of a website to its content and SEO efforts. Their ranking system remains one of the most popular methods of determining a web site's quality because of their diligent efforts of weeding out the bad apples that have little to offer a consumer other than skilled manipulation and the ability to 'play the system' to their advantage.

Of course taking advantage of the system makes perfect sense from a business standpoint but from the search engine outlook of wanting to provide the best quality sites on their results for the viewer it can become difficult to differentiate the site that is good quality wise from the site that is good because it has a very manipulative operator at the helm.

Because the rules for SEO evolve and change rapidly the mystique of search engine optimization continues to confuse website owners. Many people build their websites thinking the only SEO tool they need is key word density. While key words are an important aspect in SEO they are not the only means to an end, they are simply a part of the puzzle. There is another tried and true method of SEO that is as relevant today as it was at the start of the concept of web 2.0 marketing and that is back linking. While back linking remains one of the most successful ways to get your site to rank high on the search engines it also has undergone some changes making the types of links important so that search engines do not penalize a site for bad incoming links.

The term "back link" refers to an outside link on another site that points to yours. In the past any link from another site would have a positive impact on your site by the search engines. Because there were so many gimmicks developed in the last few years to garner massive back links to websites such as link farms, and irrelevant reciprocal linking Google began to develop a way to weed out links that were purchased, or had little meaning or relevancy.

Even though back linking is used to manipulate search engine popularity there are many very legitimate reasons for using the system of back linking. Finding web sites that have a common interest to your own who are willing to place your link on their site can get you extra exposure. When their visitors come to their site they will see your link and likely visit your site as well.

The fact that onsite links like that have such a perceived relevance to the visitor makes them a valuable marketing tool, but that perception of quality is also why Google works so hard to be sure they are real quality links. You will get higher ranking on a search engine for a number of truly appropriate back linking partnerships however if the sites linking to you do not share any common information or products Google will penalize you for the link. There are new programs in the works with Google where your site could even be devalued if the site that links to you is determined to be bad quality so it is important who you choose to link to, and also who links to you.

In the past many web site owners would open up multiple websites with the sole purpose of promoting one principle site. They would use the extra websites as a means of placing back links to the main site. Google now watches for sites that are created with the same IP address. Creating a large number of websites on the same IP address and putting back links on them to quickly develop a number of links is known as link bombing. That is not to say that you cannot ever link to your own website from a site you own. If there is a reason to show your visitors some additional information a few well placed back links are fine. It is when there are many links from each site all pointing to a single 'main' site that the search engines look at them suspiciously.

The system Google is working hard to put in place to discount a link from a bad site is why it is very important to know who is linking to you and if their site stacks up to your standards. It is no longer true that all inbound links to your site are good links. There are very good tools available online for free that can show you who is linking to you. If you find a site that is linking to you that you feel is questionable in terms of how they relate to your website either in information or product you should contact the webmaster of the site and demand that they remove the link to your website to avoid being penalized by the search engines.

Probably the best way to obtain a back link to your site is through anchor text. That is when you have another website with content that is relevant to your own (relevancy is ALWAYS important) including your site in the actual content of their site with a hyperlink inside the text. These back links are valued much higher than a simple sidebar link as long as they appear in the text in a way that has a fluid and meaningful association with the content of the article. There are several ways to get such back links.

Providing articles to content sites with your link built into the article is one method. If you write very compelling information on your website is another as someone else with a similar site may wish to point it out on their own. You may not even realize they are doing it unless they tell you about it. This is one of the main reasons it is important to keep an eye on who is back linking to you. While the majority of those types of links are wonderful and you should thank the site owner for their inclusion, if you feel the site that is linking to you does not meet your standards, have similar information, or the content is not relevant to your site you should definitely ask them to remove your link.

Back linking is an extremely important aspect of SEO development and it is something you need to understand well in order to implement and control it properly. There are many secrets and mysteries in the SEO world that diligent study can clear up. Keeping your website in good standing with the search engines and popular with your visitors is the best way to ensure a vital and profitable future for your business online.

SEO Work For You

Article number:- 9

As SEO continues to be concern number one for all website owners, more and more individuals are turning to outsourcing companies to work on their website's SEO and pagerank. In dealing with these companies, many people are still confused about what it is exactly they must do. Sometimes the answers to your questions conflict with other SEO firms or what you read in an article last month, or what some friend's little brother did on his site that made him rich overnight (don't laugh, I have heard those stories many times.)

I'm here to hopefully answer SEO outsource questions and help you get your site pulling in the traffic you'd like to see. Remember, traffic is the lifeblood of your website, and SEO is one of the best traffic generation techniques you can employ. Let's get to work.

There is a study recently completed on the results of companies outsourcing SEO (Sept. 2005, Jupiter). The results may appear shocking, but it is something I see every day in this business.

The study showed that 64% of companies that chose to outsource their SEO work did NOT follow the instructions their SEO firm laid out for them! Let me repeat- they did not follow instructions! Even though this company recognized the importance of traffic (good), researched and selected an SEO firm (better), and laid down the cash (lots of it for a professional and effective outfit, even better), their not following directions let it all fall apart!

Imagine. If 64% of those who contracted SEO work don't get it, how easy would it be for you to get ahead and optimize your website- the more attention you pay to detail, the more SEO, the more SEO, the more traffic you get, and the more traffic, the happier you are, invariably.

The more SEO changes, the more its principles stay the same. The SEO winners are not those individuals who chase each new trend. The winners are those who commit to their SEO firm and treat their business with the seriousness success commands.

So, now that you have an SEO firm working your website into search engine page-ranking super-being, your job is to sit back, implement the pertinent adjustments, and wait for the results. Carefully shaping the firm's suggestions into the working fiber of your website is critical, as these changes are those that will drive your site up. Forget Desperate Housewives- try desperate SEO firms. With 64% of clients NOT making the moves necessary for success, no wonder there are rumors of astounding failure with SEO firms out there.

Now that you are part of the 36% that takes action, its time to treat your website with the seriousness and commitment it deserves. Then, get to work with the right SEO company to open the floodgates of traffic SEO can deliver. Internet marketing success is simple, not easy, and its your choice.

The Best Credit Card Rewards For Google Ads and Search Advertising

Updated List Of The Best Credit Card Cash Back Rewards For Google Adwords, Yahoo Search Marketing, and MSN AdCenter

As a personal finance blogger and a dot com mogul-super affiliate tycoon wannabe (I’m joking), I regularly spend sums of money on domain name registrations, web hosting services, and home office computer supplies. However, the bulk of my tax deductible business expenses consist of expenditures for online advertising through top search engines like Google, Yahoo, and MSN. While compared to the big boys (and girls) my advertising budget is comparatively puny, I still seek to maximize my money however I can, whether that means utilizing free promotional coupons for extra savings and free online advertising, or taking advantage of credit card offers to earn cashback rebates on Google Adword purchases.

Online Advertising Through Pay Per Click Works, But It Can Get Expensive Depending On Subject Niche

Those who are familiar with online advertising know that there are a variety of ways and methods to get your website brand or blog name into the search engines and thus into the public eye for maximum traffic. However, this doesn’t necessarily mean that all of the methods are created equal. Currently the most popular search engine with the most capability to leverage the most search traffic by far is run by Google. But while the Google Adword program’s certainly the most dominant player in the online marketing world, there are also other lesser options worth mentioning - most notably Yahoo Search Marketing and Microsoft’s MSN AdCenter. Neither Yahoo Search nor MSN AdCenter are likely to topple the 800 pound gorilla of Google Adwords anytime soon, but the smaller search sites still own a small, albeit dwindling piece of the search engine pie.

For those who spend money on internet advertising through Google, Yahoo, or MSN, probably the bulk is spent on paid text link advertising or pay per click (PPC) promotional campaigns. Both paid text links and PPC advertising are used by many bloggers and website promoters to generate traffic needed to convert organic search traffic into profitable affiliate sales. Personally, I highly advise against engaging in buying or selling paid text links, and refuse to engage in paid text link buying or selling myself. The frowned upon practice is a form of marketing suicide in my opinion, and is the number one way to incur the wrath of Google, which sees the buying and selling of paid backlinks as a form of guerrilla attack on the integrity of the Google search engine algorithm.

In contrast, pay per click advertising and the purchasing of approved advertisement links through Google, Yahoo, or MSN’s network of publisher banners and ads are proven and permitted ways to drive website traffic. However, as anyone who engages in pay per click advertising or other affiliate marketing means through Google Adsense or Yahoo Ads knows, the cost to promote a successful PPC ad campaign isn’t cheap. While newbies to internet advertising are unlikely to spend much money initially (a few hundred dollars a month at most), larger scale promoters frequently spend upwards of hundreds to thousands, or even hundred thousands, of dollars on monthly pay per click advertising alone.

Use Credit Card Rewards To Save Money On Online Business and Advertising Expenses (Google Adwords, Yahoo Search Marketing, MSN AdCenter)

Smart business types should always try to find ways to minimize business expenses and utilize as many discounts and promotional offers as possible to net the greatest overall profit. One of the best ways for bloggers and affiliate marketers to save money in this area is to maximize and strategize their use of credit cards rewards. Presuming you are savvy and responsible with your usage of credit, and maintain a respectable FICO credit score to boot, reward credit cards are essential ways for online entrepreneurs and advertisers to maximize their small business spending. Surprised that there are credit card reward programs dedicated and suited for web based businesses and online marketers? Don’t be! While Yahoo and Google credit card advertising rewards are not as well known as say, credit card discount programs for groceries and gas, the area is a steadily growing (albeit not fully tapped) segment of the credit card rewards market. Currently, most of the best cash back credit card rewards for bloggers, webmasters, and internet marketers are not widely advertised, and to get the details requires some digging, which I’ve done below.

For the tax minded business folks who wonder if there is an income tax on credit card rewards or aren’t sure whether one is obligated to report all cash back rewards and point rebates earned through the use of credit cards, rest assured - there is no such tax. Credit card rewards earned by consumers and businesses are viewed as purchase incentives by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) in the nature of discounts and coupons, not subject to personal income tax liability. So don’t miss out on the cash back savings and discount potential of specialized credit card incentive programs designed to help you finance and pay for your online advertising and promotional efforts.

1) Google Adword and Adsense Pay Per Click Advertising - Get Up To 5% Cash Back With Reward Credit Cards

Until the day Google announces the release of its long awaited Google credit card and starts up its own Google credit card rewards program, the following card offers are your best bet when it comes to earning cashback for money spent on Google advertising. Personally, I can’t wait for Google to come out with its own Google credit card and would be the first to camp out in line for something like that - I’m quite the Google fan. Just the thought of earning Google rebate rewards on a percentage of all Adwords expenditures and the ability to redeem points for either cash or Google branded products like T shirts, mouse pads, and even portable Google fridges would be quite lovely. I used to carry around a Yahoo credit card back when Yahoo offered its own card program. When they eventually discontinued the Yahoo credit card rewards program, I was sad to see it go. It was pretty neat being able to redeem points for cool Yahoo T-shirts and other merchandise - techie stuff you couldn’t get anywhere else.

In the meantime, for those of you who spend a lot of money or even just a little bit on Google Adwords and Google Adsense advertising, here are the best credit cards cards to help you save money and get cash back rewards on your PPC advertising efforts. The rewards you earn can be used for whatever you wish, including plowing them back into more PPC marketing. While Google does not currently have any special deals with any particular credit card issuer to offer Google discounts, there are a few specially suited cards for such purposes.

  1. Advanta Platinum BusinessCard For Online Marketers - Also known as the Advanta Platinum Business Card With Customized Cash Back Options, this card offers cardholders the ability to earn as high as 5% cash back on all online marketing expenditures. It’s probably the best overall reward credit card for new bloggers and affiliate marketers who are just getting into the PPC advertising scene. The expenditures that are covered include Google Adwords, Yahoo, MSN Search, and eBay fees. The Advanta rewards program also covers office expenses as well. The high 5% rebate rate is only provided for the first $1,500 of qualified expenditures, and after that it’s a tiered 1% cashback on everything spent.
  2. Advanta Kiva Business Card - With the Kiva business credit card offer, online marketers get to earn up to 5% cashback on money spent on online advertising services like Google Adwords or Yahoo Search. There are no restrictions as to which affiliate or ad network must be used. The card also earns up to 5% cashback for business office related expenses like gas, computers, utilities, and even charitable contributions. There is also a nice 0% balance transfer offer for 15 months.
  3. American Express Plum Card - With the highly advertised Plum Card from American Express Open (the Plum card yogurt commercial is everywhere on TV these days), you get an astounding 2% cashback rewards on everything purchased with the card if you pay within 10 days of your billing cycle. The catch is you’ll need to spend above $5,000 a month with your Plum credit card. Anything less and you’ll only earn 1% cashback. Of course, the card was designed for big time spenders and small businesses with high expenses. If you spend a lot of money on Google Adwords or other forms of advertising, you may want to think about the Amex Plum card. There is a hefty $185 annual fee that’s waived for the first year, but it’s easily worth it if your business spends a lot of money on online advertising or other business expenses.
  4. Chase Business Cash Rewards Card - With the Chase Business Cash Rewards offer, online entrepreneurs and small business owners can earn up to a tiered 5% cashback on all purchases with no merchant or category restrictions. Your rewards earning potential is unlimited and there is no restriction as to how much you can earn. Your cash back percentage rate rises and falls depending on how much you spend per month. For online marketers who expect to spend more than $2,000 a month on Google Adwords (that’s when the high 5% kicks in), this is a nice card to have.
  5. Fidelity Rewards Signature Card - While the card requires a Fidelity Investment broker account to maximize rewards earning potential, if you’ve got one or are willing to sign up for one, you can earn 1.5% cash back on all your online advertising efforts. Actually, coupled with a Fidelity account, the card allows you to earn an effective 1.5% cashback on all products and services you purchase with the card, with no category or store limitation. Most comparable card programs only offer 1% back for general purchases so if you are a major spender, this is an ideal and recommended card to get. The Fidelity Signature is one of the reward cards I use on a regular basis.

2) Yahoo Search Marketing - Get 5% or More CashBack Savings Using American Express Business Credit Cards

Currently, savvy online entrepreneurs have the ability to take advantage of American Express’ Open Network Business credit cards to net themselves more than 5% cash back rewards when they spend money on Yahoo Search Marketing services. Through a special partnership between Amex and Yahoo announced not too long ago, American Express business credit card users will now get to enjoy a 5% discount on all their Yahoo based advertising and web promotional expenditures simply by using their Amex business cards. This not only includes pay per click advertising using Yahoo’s Search Marketing, but also includes Yahoo publisher services ranging from web site hosting, e-commerce, to domain name registration.

While Yahoo is not the most popular or even a serious contender in second place, its PPC advertising fees are substantially lower than that charged by more popular services like Google Adwords where greater bidding competition among advertisers drives up promotion costs - making Yahoo a cheaper, but still viable alternative. Besides, it’s good to diversify one’s advertisement methods. One can even take credit card rewards one step further. Currently, there are certain select Amex business cards that offer even more lucrative rebate rewards on top of the existing 5% discount for Yahoo services. All of the following American Express Open business credit card offers below offer additional cumulative rewards on top of the 5% discount on Yahoo Search Marketing:

  1. Blue Cash For Business Amex Card - With this high earning business credit card offer, you have the potential to earn up to a tiered 5% cash back2.5% cash back rewards rate. The special purchase categories include gas stations, drug stores, and supermarkets. In addition, Amex business cardholders also get to enjoy the usual Amex Open network savings on free hotel stays, car rentals, and airline travel. rebate on eligible special category purchases. For everything else, including PPC advertising expenses, you get a tiered

The Unexpected Benefit of Taking Things Personally

I’m in the middle of a few different copywriting projects right now, and if you’ve ever juggled multiple projects (which I’m sure most of you have) you know that there is a fine line between working quickly while maintaining a standard of quality.

I was chatting with my friend Stuart Tan the other day about copywriting, marketing, and Web 2.0 (what else, right?). Stuart is a phenomenally successful business owner who runs an NLP and Success Training company out of Singapore.

Many of his friends and clients have dubbed him “Superman” because of his “go-go-go” attitude and his ability to do great amounts of work in a fraction of the time it takes most people to do it in.

I met Stuart personally at JV Alert Live in Philadelphia a few months ago, and truly, he was engaging in some Superman-ish behavior.

Never mind the jet lag from the time difference in Singapore, never mind the 14 hour plane flight, Stuart was the first one up and the last one to leave the networking functions in the wee hours of the morning.

He personally outlined an astonishingly simple but insightful business plan for me over a few glasses of wine, and I was scribbling notes the whole time on a bar napkin.

Regardless… he’s a wise dude, and when he talks, people listen.

While talking to him he asked me, “James, how long does it take you to finish a long copy sales letter?”

I asked him, “Research included?”

“Yes,” he replied.

“Mmm… if it’s in a niche I already know about, I’d say about a week or so? If I’m totally unfamiliar I’d need a few more days to crank out a 12 - 16 pager” I told him.

“I write 30 page sales letters in 4 hours,” Stuart told me.

I asked him how this was possible — and in reply, he told me one of the biggest secrets he uses to be able to finish such a large amount of work in such a short period of time.

He takes every letter ‘personally’.

Stay with me for a moment because this is interesting.

He gets all of the information he needs to write the letter, but right before he sits down at the computer, Stuart actually imagines a close friend or family member about to buy a similar product or service — but that the product is absolutely horrible.

The friend or family member would be making a terrible mistake and would be wasting a lot of money by purchasing this product.

Stuart imagines this person’s pain and anguish and he crafts his sales message around why HIS PARTICULAR product or service is going to create such a huge benefit in his friend or family member’s life.

He takes it personally.

By the time he’s done thinking about this, he’s so worked up that the words just flow from his mind and onto the screen.

And he finishes 30 page letters in 4 hours.

Not only does this get him “in state” it does the job of helping Stuart dimensionalize the prospect, and speak to this person one on one, rather than in general, muddled language.

All in all I think it’s a brilliant technique.

And it’s one I’ve started using.

I’ll report on results in a future post.

In the meantime why don’t you start ‘taking things personally’? — you might find yourself being more productive as a result.

Hope this helps.

Increase Online Traffic Using The Best Techniques

Article Number:- 7

Starting a website is not the start of a business. You need to identify your clientele and welcome them to view your products and that is when you need to increase online traffic. And it is only by increasing traffic to your site that you can attract customers to buy your products.

There are many available ways to augment the traffic to your website, but I can't talk about all of them in this article. You can find more in Google Snatch, a quite interesting internet marketing book.

Formulating your site is probably the first thing that needs to be done. It has to be attractive, precise and credible. Words and beautiful graphics are indispensable. When you have a product you have to sell it. You cannot be waiting for potential customers to knock at your door. Select some prominent and catchy keywords or more appropriately small phrases to let your potential clients know about the specialty of your site. Using your keyword or phrase again and again in your site will increase the chance of gaining popularity in the web world.

Once your website is functional, it needs to be checked for its potentiality. Check how many clicks it takes to reach the site. Ideally it should not take more than three clicks. Your website must be designed in such a way, that both an experienced web traveler and even a novice web user must feel comfortable to navigate with ease within the site and use it.

Another solution to increase online traffic is to 'buy' traffic. The site can be registered with the popular search engines that direct traffic to the sites. Also the site can be linked to similar and popular well charted sites which can increase online traffic. Internet traffic can also be bought through pay-per-click search engines, however the down side is payment.

These search engines allow you to select the keywords and bid for the top position. When you bid on targeted keywords, you get instant traffic with pay-per-click search engines. If possible, bid to appear on the top three listings. This will reach eighty per cent of the online users.

Web users are usually very pressed for time and that factor has to be taken into consideration. When there is a dense population it is the well seen, prominent ones that catch the eye. And so with the online web traffic too, with thousands of competitive sites vying for attention, the top ones get the chunk of attention. For this the first few sites of the popular search engines carry away the most and score over others.

Professional agencies are available that give tips to make the site look smart. Including interactive materials with rewards and competitions are likely to gain an upper hand.

In addition to increasing the friendliness of your site, in this competitive world advertising is another important investment that could be done. In this fast changing time keeping the site updated needs to be taken care of regularly. A little look into these details and you are sure to increase online traffic.

The Best Traffic Generation

Although search engines have been around since the beginning of the Web, many businesses (large and small) are just now waking up to the gigantic benefit search engines provide. What other medium gives you - at absolutely no cost whatsoever - a way to drive unlimited traffic to your site? None. Thats why, once people understand search engine optimization (SEO), they get hooked!

I want to give you some basics to follow in order to help get your site ranked at the top of popular search engines like Yahoo! and Google. I also want to provide you with some exceptional resources so you can further your SEO education in the future.

What Is Search Engine Optimization?

SEO is the process of creating a Web site that fosters the design, coding, copy, and link-building elements search engines most like to see. Through the process of SEO, you can develop a site (or alter an existing site) so that the engines will move you up to the top of the search results. That means people who are actually looking to find what you have to sell will click to your site before your competitions.

How Does SEO Work?

There are three fundamental parts to the SEO equation: coding, copywriting, and link popularity.

Coding is the manipulation of your HTML code so that it is clean, uncluttered, positioned correctly, and easily accessible to the search engine spiders and bots. You want to be sure the most important information to the spiders is located up top where they can quickly and easily find it. You also want to ensure that java scripts and other such coding are moved out of the spiders way.

Copywriting relates to the text on your site. Search engine copywriting pertains to being able to write in such a way that you include your primary keyphrases in strategic places so that you get the most "points" from the engines.

Link popularity deals with how many sites have links that point back to your site (and vice versa). The theory is, that if others think highly enough of your site to link to it, your site must be of good quality.

When you have a good combination of all three primary elements, you stand a much better chance of ranking high with the engines.

Doesnt SEO Depend On META Tags?

It used to... a long, LONG time ago. When the Net was first founded, just about all you had to do to get high rankings was to shove a bunch of keyphrases into your keyword tag. Now, however, the engines are smarter. They pay no attention to the keyword tags and very little attention to the description tag. The only tag that carries much weight anymore is the title tag. It is extremely important.

Isnt SEO Copywriting Just Using Keyphrases As Many Times As You Can?

No! Not only does that put you at risk of spamming the search engines, it makes your copy sound horrible to your human site visitors. What good are high search engine rankings if your copy doesnt convert those visitors into paying customers?

You need to find creative and strategic places to use keyphrases so that you maintain the balance between natural language and keyphrase use.

An experienced Internet Marketer

Article Number:-5

If you are an experienced Internet Marketer, chances are that you would have used or heard about Brad Callen's SEO Elite software. It's an excellent SEO link building tool to boost your home business ideas to help you achieve high search engine ranking quickly and easily. I have yet to buy this product mainly because it's pretty expensive and I wanted to look for an alternative software which is equally good but more affordable. I came across a free SEO tool, which does almost everything that SEO Elite does and the best part of it is that it is free! The software is called Webceo (www.webceo dot com)

This SEO tool helps you find keywords, find your link partners, optimize your pages, manage PPC campaigns, shows your link popularity and gets you informative traffic reports. That's quite a lot for something that you get free, don't you think?

I found this free SEO tool easy to install even with my old computer and I was able to start using the seo software after about 30 minutes as the software download does take a bit of time. The first thing that quite impressed me was the voice-simulated tutorials made available to you in learning the various topics provided as training. I did find myself replaying some parts of them until I really understood each topic. (thanks to the sweet sounding female voice doing the on-screen training)

Although I don't own SEO Elite, I have read from people who have used it for link building that it actually does everything SEO Elite does and a couple more and it doesn't cost a thing. One criticism some of them have is that it is not as user friendly as Brad's software. Unfortunately I am not able to make this comparison and to me this free SEO tool is simply amazing. I would think that a little unfriendliness in the product is acceptable to me since it is free and serves my basic SEO requirements for my home business ideas anyway. I believe that products given away free are not necessarily bad or of lower quality. Giving away something free is often the way that people sell a product with an upgradeable program as in this case. The business owner or product creator uses this free SEO tool as a marketing investment to generate more sales on other core products and services.

To give you a better understanding of what you can expect from this free SEO tool, here is a short summary of some of the main features of this SEO software:

1. Find Your Niche

Find Keywords: It helps you do niche keyword research and you can build a list of the most relevant and effective keywords in order to optimize your home business site.

Optimize pages: Tells you the changes you should make to your pages to help your home business site rank among the top 10 listings in the search engines.

2. Promote Your Site:

Submit URL Get registered with the best search engines and directories. But my advice and that of many other SEO experts on this is it is not recommended to submit your URL to search engines. Instead, since your site is new, it is recommended to obtain some back links from relevant theme sites and do lots of blog comments. This should help to get your new site indexed much faster by the search engines.

Find Link Partners Find your potential link partners. This free SEO tool has a feature, which allows you to select your targeted keywords that you are presently ranking. Evaluate those websites with similar theme with their page ranks listed for you. You can now start to manage correspondence with the site owners to obtain their links. A suggested text is also provided for your email communication with your future partners.

Manage PPC Campaigns Lets you take full control of your paid search engines. New account registration with the search engines. Add datasets for your accounts and lets you manage your PPC accounts very easily.

3. Analyze Your Home Business Ideas Website

Check Ranking Show your current search result positions of your website for the targeted keywords in the search engines. You can use this feature to monitor how your Home Business Ideas site progresses over time.

Analyze Link Popularity Tells you the number of links to your Home Business Ideas site found by the search engines. The free SEO tool shows you who link to you but more importantly who your competitors are. Take full advantage of this important information on hand to increase your link popularity.

Traffic Reports Provides information about your visitors and shows you how profitable your site is. Discover which ad campaigns are doing well.

4. Maintain Your Site

Control Site Quality

Check your Home Business Ideas website for all types of errors and correct them - missing ALT attributes, broken links etc

5. Get This Free SEO Tool Although I have just started using this software and therefore not used all the features the results look real promising and I found it easy to use too. I think it's a great link building tool to have if you want an excellent free SEO tool for link management for your home business. As for me I can say I have found an alternative to SEO Elite, to boost my home business ideas. And it's free!

You should Clear Your Doubt About Search Engine Optimization

Most of the people are unaware of the fact what does Search Engine Optimization means? Search Engine Optimization is not so popular like any other Computer software or hardware related subjects or servicesSo what does search engine optimization or better know as SEO means? SEO or search engine optimization is the technique by which it guides the development and redevelopment of a website.

It also help you in getting large number of visitors by getting good search engine rank on the top search engines like Google, Yahoo, MSN for targeted keywords or key phrases. More you improve search engine rank better is the chance of getting large number of visitors. Basically Search Engine optimization is required for making people who are using internet aware of your website. In short you can say that search engine optimization shows the way for better exposure of your site in the internet.

Naturally large number of visitors will visit your site and thus you can gain money from your site. In search engine point of view this visitors are known as traffics. So we can say that every site needs optimization for better traffic. After on page optimization the website take some time to get into top 10 in the search engine ranking by the targeted keywords through off page optimization.

Time varies from 1 month to 6 months. It depend on how competitive the keyword is and how much effort you are putting on optimizing the site. Since Google is the most popular search engine so it takes more time to spider up the websites. However no SEO companies will guarantee you that your site will rank in Top 10 by such and such months. Because the ranking totally depends on the competitive keywords and also the algorithm of the search engines. This algorithm changes every now and then so naturally sometimes it takes time to get rank in different search engines.

Basically the ranking of the keyword for a site depends on the following factors: -

1. Competitive keywords. If the keywords are competitive then it takes sometime to get good ranking in the search engines.

2. Quality of the content of the site and how tactfully the keywords are used in the content.

3. Website design should be as simple possible. It will help the search engine to crawl easily.

4. The presence if the site on the web.

5. Number of inbound links of the site.

6. Local Directory submission.

This will help you to catch local visitors and will also make one type of advertisement. Now many people ask whether local companies are good for SEO. According to me you should always choose local companies than outsourcing your work to some other companies of different states or countries. Local SEO companies can be easily deal with than the other state companies.

This is because local companies are cheap and more important is you can vigilance your work progress by going to their company physically. So for example if your company is located in Florida then for optimizing your company website always choose Florida SEO companies.

Pay per click advertising is set up with the Search Engine providers where you only pay when a user clicks on your sponsored link to visit your site. As an advertiser you bid on the key phrase you have decided to market, the amount you bid can vary considerable depending on the popularity of the key phrase costing as much as £25 per click, so managing these campaigns needs careful planning. Then when a user types in a matched phrase your ad will be displayed in the position depending on the relevance of your ad and the amount you have bid.

The second option is to improve your organic listing through SEO, Search Engine Optimization and there are now companies that specialize in this service. These companies have the relevant background and knowledge to optimize your site to enable the search engine spiders to read and index your site more effectively. Other more advanced online and off line techniques can be applied and your SEO provider should be able to recommend these to you if they are necessary.

There are no guarantees that any of the techniques used will get you a page 1 positioning as the search engines can change their algorithms and the more competitive the arena is for the phrase being marketed the harder it is to get a high ranking. Beware of companies that offer this to you as they are either making false promises or implementing black hat techniques.

Careful consideration should be taken when choosing an SEO company that can implement good onsite changes supported with relevant off site work. Search Engines Secrets Exposed

Article number :-3

Anyone who is serious about building wealth on the Internet MUST master the search engines. Therefore, learning how the search engines actually work and how they present information to the customer initiating a search, is key to anyone optimizing their website for search engine indexing.

The most common methods the search engines use to index a site is by using content scanning robots called "Web Crawlers" or "Spiders".

Search Engines use spiders to index websites. When you submit your website pages to a search engine by completing their required submission page, the search engine spider will index your entire site. A "spider" is an automated program that is run by the search engine system. Spider visits a web site, reads the content on the actual site, reads the site's Meta tags, and also follows the site's outbound links. The spider then returns all that information back to a central depository, where the data is indexed. It will visit each link you have on your website and index those sites as well. Some spiders will only index a certain number of pages on your site, so don't create a site with 500 pages!

The spider will periodically return to the sites to check for any information that has changed. The frequency with which this happens is determined by the moderators of the search engine, although there is a metatag within many websites' header that contains instructions for the crawlers to return in a specified number of days.

A spider creates a file almost like a book; it contains the table of contents, the actual content and the links and references for all the websites it finds during its search, and it may index up to a million pages a day!

Example: Excite, Lycos, AltaVista and Google.

When you ask a search engine to locate information, it is actually searching through the index which it has created and not actually searching the Web. Different search engines produce different rankings because not every search engine uses the same algorithm to search through the indices.

One of the things that a search engine algorithm scans for is the frequency and location of keywords on a web page, but it can also detect artificial keyword stuffing or spamdexing. Then the algorithms analyze the way that pages link to other pages in the Web. By checking how pages link to each other, an engine can both determine what a page is about, if the keywords of the linked pages are similar to the keywords on the original page.

These algorithms are largely a mystery; a deep secret known only to the search engine staff. Huge amounts of money are paid to SEO (search engine optimization) experts (as well as some who claim to be experts) to optimize pages for the highest possible search engine rankings. Top rankings on engines like Google mean market domination for the well optimized site, and that top rank is highly contested, as you can guess!

How important is domain name in SEO?

i will answer your question in a different way ... do not mix themes at your site ... mixing themes is a big no-no

this means that if your site has nothing to do with baseball and you add a baseball folder + content, then your rankings will suffer

if on the other hand, your site is about baseball, i would opt for the first one with a link to that folder on your home page ... my understanding is that the second one may be considered as a separated domain name which would mean having to promote it separately

perhaps others have something to add

Link Building and SEO: Using Sitemaps and Tags

This is second one....comment if you like it...bye...

Based on your sites architecture, internal and external links, search engines create a profile of how each correlates and interacts with the other to map out which pages have the highest significance to their index.

This principle is known as link equity and fortunately for webmasters, link weight and link equity can be sculpted to benefit sub directories, individual pages or sub domains for enhanced visibility in search engines.

We will in theory be covering a less publicized SEO technique for SEO through building links to tags and sitemaps to shift link weight throughout your site. Particularly when you are dealing with a series of strong inbound links such as site-wide links (links from every page in another site or a blog roll).

Tags are implemented to create categorization of consolidated information which serves to create a common theme for posts and pages in your site. In addition to tags, sitemaps are also implemented frequently to consolidate vast sites with depth to a manageable means. In this post, we will discuss how you can use both to make your website more robust in search engines “specifically for long tail or broad match phrases”.

Naturally things like using the “no-follow” tag, using embedding links in java script so they are user-friendly for humans but unavailable for search engines (to add significance to) is one way to sculpt the way link juice moves around your pages, but what about using external links strategically to add the perfect icing on the cake?

Which page will rank higher, a page with 100 inbound links from within your site or a page with no internal or external links? Inbound links (IBL) are a metric that create a signature and an accommodating effect for where they congregate. This facet of link popularity is what distinguishes your lackluster from blockbuster pages that really stand out to funnel relevant traffic to your site.

What if you opened the funnel even more by adding more traffic-bearing pages to your sites profile systemically? If the concept is appealing, then use the simple tip of building links to your sitemaps or tags (if you utilize a content management system) to strengthen any affiliated pages joined by them.

It is not uncommon for each subfolder to implement xml sitemaps for the sake of cataloging the contents of that folder. So why not take it one step further and use it as a spine which can dispense the full power of an inbound links potential by giving it multiple target pages to saturate.

It is also important to note that by using this technique, you may wish to set your meta tags to no index, follow (which means you do not want your sitemaps outranking key pages in the index, but you are indicating that the links should be followed).

One obvious benefit is pages that barely made the grade (as far as link popularity) now gain expression and are able to rank on their title tag alone, or the combination of a description tag and a few keywords from the content in the body of the page are now enough to produce a top 10 ranking for a long tail search. Get enough top 10 results for any given query and search engines will promote your website as an authority.

So, just because reaping the reward of plucking the low hanging fruit as far as keywords go, may not have been your original intention, why waste latent potential from lack of expression. So, what is the technique?

Simply link to your tag pages index.php?tagname or rename your sitemap to something else other than sitemap such as keyword-resource.html or keyword-resource.xml and then use that as the target page to build links to equivocally ramp up every page that is linked using the tags or the sitemap.

This simple but effective method can bring languishing pages to the forefront to test their mettle for keyword worthiness. If you find some pages have a great hook and get more traffic than others, then you know which new keywords to develop more content for as well as build strong internal link silos to gain even more relevant traffic to your pages.

Articles for Improved Search Engine Rank

Hi I am satish

I found this beautiful article, I thought to share this with my friends.

If you are looking for improved search engine rank for any page on your website, you have to learn how to write articles in order to make use of one of the major and most useful resources online: article directories.

Just as website directories can be used to promote your website online, article directories can be used to publish your articles. These articles can in turn be used to promote a specific page on your website, and in this respect are more useful than a website directory listing that promotes only your home page.

You have few opportunities to direct search engine spiders directly to a page of your choice, and when one arises it should be made good use of. In fact, other than article directories and links on your website, you are unlikely to find such an opportuníty, and it should be seized whenever it arises. However, very few people actually know how to make best use of such an opportuníty and to use their articles intelligently to drive masses of traffic to their site.

You can use your Author's Resource to achieve that, but in order to get the Resource read, you have to get the article read. For that to happen, you have to write a good article and then make people read it. To do that your title must be good enough to persuade people to read it. To achieve that you must be able to write a good title. So how do you achieve all of these things? That is the purpose of this article: to teach you how to craft a title that will get you article read, and then to craft a resource that will compel the reader to visit your website - or the web page that you want them to see.

So, first the title: Before you can craft your title you will need a good topic or subject to write about. There are several ways to decide what that should be, but that is another article. Let's assume that you have decided to write about how to cure a slice in golf. The obvious title would be: "How to Cure Your Golf Slice".

Would that really be a good idea? How many web pages are there online with that title? A few thousand? A few hundred thousand? In fact if you use the term as a Google search you will find it is 387,000. You have 387,000 other websites competing for these keywords. Now, let's change it to "How to Cure a Golf Slice". You get 71,500 competing sites. Just one small word change: 'your' to 'a' reduces the competition by almost 82%.

What that means is that with fewer competing sites you have a lot better chance of having your website listed close to the top of the listings for the keyword. However, you also have to take the demand into consideration: if nobody is using these keywords in their search you won't benefit by using them. Using Wordtracker I get three times as many people, searching for 'cure A golf slice' than 'cure YOUR golf slice'. So based upon keyword research the title will be: How to Cure A Golf Slice

This has three times the demand and over a fifth of the supply of the alternative with 'YOUR' in the keyword. That's the difference that one simple word can make to the success or failure of a keyword or keyphrase.

In practice it will make little difference, unless the prospect uses the exact phrase, in which case 'how to cure a golf slice' is the more likely of the two terms for somebody to use. Were the term 'cure my golf slice' used, both would have the same number of results.

You then write the article, making it as interesting and as useful to the reader as possible, and try to persuade them that they have to find out more by visiting your website. However, the purpose of this article is not to show you how to write articles, but how to use them. You do that using your Resource Box. This is a section that some directories provide in which you have to persuade the reader to visit your site. The directory won't describe it as such, but that is basically what it is. In fact not all directories provide a separate data box for this, so you have to add it to the end of your article, but either way you design it the same way.

Keep in mind that the resource box should not be used as a bio. Even though the directory might ask you to provide info about yourself, you should use it to promote your website. Here are some ideas for your resource box.

1. Provide more information and a free gift "For more information on this topic and a free gift check out Pete's website at xxxxxx" .

2. The Second Part Offer "You will find Part 2 of this article at, in which you will learn how to put this information to practical use."

3. The Final Offer "If this article interests you, you will find a limited period free offer on, that will help you to cure your golf slice."

These are various uses to which you can put the resource box, and they are all effective in getting the important clicks. However the format that works best for me is something along the lines of: "For more information check out xxxxxx where I will show you how to make every article rock with cash generating pizzazz that makes you more in a month than your website does in a whole year."

That's how to use your articles and your resource to make monëy. Some people don't want the resource to look like an advert. Why not? Advertising is your life's blood and your resource is the only place in your article where you really can advertise.
